Materials characterisation, data standardisation and digitalisation

2nd Exploitation & Dissemination Open Day Workshop

The nanoMECommons Project is pleased to announce its 2nd Exploitation and Dissemination Open Day Workshop. This hybrid event is being held in Cambridge, UK.

Location: Homerton College, Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 8PH, UK – (Hybrid meeting)
Date: Wednesday, 20 November 2024

NanoMECommons is establishing a transnational and multidisciplinary research and innovation network to tackle the problem of nanomechanical materials characterisation in multiple industries.  The aim of the project is to create improved interoperability and traceability of data, and offer protocols for multi-technique, multi-scale characterisations of mechanical properties in a range of industrially relevant sectors. The project is also creating novel tools for data sharing and focusing on developing specific ontologies and standardised data documentation.

The Open Day will be a great opportunity to meet the nanoMECommons partners, learn about activities and the results of this project from the project partners presentations.

Confirmed participants are coming from the following organisations: Airbus, Siemens Industry Software, Johnson Matthey, NLR – Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre, Centro Ricerche FIAT, Hexcel, Fraunhofer IWM, Fraunhofer IFAM, Montanuniversitaet Leoben, Keysight Technologies, Ansys, Nanografi Nano Technology, CEA, Sintef, IMDEA, UCL, TU Wien, University of Malta, University of Bologna, CSIC, Università degli Studi “Roma Tre”, Science and Technology Facilities Council-UKRI, GREMI, CNRS & University of Orléans, National Technical University of Athens, Hellenic Mediterranean University, Institute of Molecular Sciences, University of Cadiz, IIT Madras, Software Imagination & Vision, SIGEA, and Goldbeck Consulting.

Participation is free but registration is required. If you are interested in attending, register your interest on the link below or send an email to the Exploitation and Dissemination Management at: info@nanomecommons.eu

1st Exploitation & Dissemination Open Day Workshop

The 1st nanoMECommons Exploitation and Dissemination Workshop was hosted by Ansys UK in Cambridge on the 3 & 4 July 2023, as a hybrid event.

This Workshop 40 people registered to participate, from which 14 belong to external organisations. The majority of participating organisations belong to industry.

Coordinators and key partners from sister projects were invited to participate in the Open Day. The guest participating projects were: i-Tribomat, DOME 4.0 and NANOPAT.

During both day sessions, very interesting and fruitful discussions took place among participants. Some of the topics discussed were related to the management of the databases, data quality and sustainability, data confidentiality, access, privacy issues and costs associated to running the data platform, after the end of the project.
